Managing Partner & Chief Compliance Officer

Kurt Newsom is a Managing Partner of XXI Wealth, bringing more than 20 years of experience advising successful individuals, families, business owners, executives, and professional athletes. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Kurt helps clients integrate investment management, tax planning, estate considerations, and long-term financial strategy into one coordinated plan, often working alongside the other trusted professionals on a client’s advisory team.

Prior to co-founding XXI Wealth, Kurt served as a Managing Director at a major North American bank. Earlier in his career, he was an Equity Partner of Geneva Advisors in Chicago, where he advised high-net-worth families and institutional clients while overseeing legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.

Background

Kurt’s background combines financial, legal, and business expertise. He earned a joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami, with a specialization in Financial Investments and Corporate Finance, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan. During graduate school, he was inducted into both the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and The Bar and Gavel Honor Society, and received the James S. Mofsky Memorial Service Award for distinguished leadership and service.

Kurt has also been actively involved in philanthropic leadership. He previously served as President of the Young Associates Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, helping lead the organization to record-setting fundraising results in support of pediatric healthcare.

Outside of his professional work, Kurt and his wife, Jen, enjoy coaching their son Jack in wrestling, cheering on their daughter Emmy at swim meets, and spending time with their large extended family, including 15 nieces and nephews.
